Woman Dies in Garbage Truck Accident

A woman who was critically injured after being struck by a garbage truck near Noorani Basti succumbed to her injuries during treatment on Thursday. Police have yet to arrest the driver responsible for the incident.

The accident occurred on Liaquat Bridge, also known as Noorani Basti Bridge, within the jurisdiction of Pinyari police station. A garbage truck belonging to the Sindh Solid Waste Management Board rammed into a motorcycle, causing 45-year-old Shabana Aslam Qureshi and her son to fall to the ground.

The truck ran over Shabana, fracturing her spine and leaving her with severe injuries.

She was rushed to the Civil Hospital, where she passed away during treatment on Thursday.

Local MPA Nasir Hussain Qureshi expressed concern over the rising fatalities in his PS-65 constituency, saying that six people have lost their lives in similar accidents involving garbage trucks in recent weeks. He criticised the lack of action against the drivers, calling for steps to address the situation.
