ATTOCK:

Sardar Asif Nawaz Khan, a former Union Council chairman from Tehsil Jund, was tragically shot dead by two unidentified assailants on a motorcycle in the Bisal police station jurisdiction.

The incident has led to widespread protests, with locals blocking the Rawalpindi-Kohat road in anger. After negotiations with the police and local authorities, the protesters agreed to postpone their demonstration until Friday.

The murder took place in Pind Sultani village, where Sardar Asif Nawaz Khan, a well-known political and social figure, was attacked by the assailants. He was critically injured in the shooting and, despite being rushed to a nearby hospital, succumbed to his injuries on the way.

In response to the murder, residents of Pind Sultani shut down the Rawalpindi-Kohat road, demanding the immediate arrest of the killers. The protest caused a temporary traffic blockade, but after discussions with the DSP of Pindigheb and the SHO of Bisal Police Station, the road was reopened, and the protest was rescheduled for Friday.

The police have obtained CCTV footage showing two suspects on a motorcycle, and investigations are ongoing. Authorities are working to track down the perpetrators.
