Christmas celebrated with traditional zeal

Priests highlighted the sacrifices and teachings of Jesus and offered special prayers for the security of the country.

KARACHI:

The Christian community in the city celebrated the Christmas festival with the traditional zeal and enthusiasm. The day started with church choir songs. Churches and houses were attractively decorated with electric lanterns, Christmas trees and colorful flowers. Children and adults participated in the festivities by dressing up in new clothes.

Pakistan's biggest Christmas tree was the centre of attraction. Priests highlighted the sacrifices and teachings of Jesus and offered special prayers for the security, prosperity and development of the Pakistani and Palestinian people. Gifts and cakes were exchanged, and the merriment continued for a long time.
