Repair work continues on metro track
Construction and renovation work is underway at the Saddar station of the metro bus service in Rawalpindi. The efforts are expected to continue until December 31. The Rawalpindi City Traffic Police have implemented measures to manage traffic flow during this period.
According to officials, heavy machinery is being utilised at Saddar Station on Main Murree Road during daylight hours under the supervision of the Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA).
As a result, only one lane remains open for traffic, with machinery occupying portions of Murree Road.
Work at various metro stations will proceed until the end of December, officials confirmed.
During this time, one lane beneath the Murree Road Saddar Station will remain fully closed. City Traffic Police are deployed to ensure traffic movement despite these disruptions.
Traffic slowdowns are expected, particularly during peak hours, due to the lane closure. Officials assured that all three lanes of Murree Road will reopen once the renovation work concludes.
Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Rawalpindi has instructed the Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Traffic Cantt Circle to maintain smooth traffic flow.
Citizens have been urged to adhere to lane discipline and follow instructions provided by traffic personnel.
