Murder convict awarded death sentence

Convicted Master Hashmat Ali had shot and killed Ghufran Mahmood over personal enmity.

Four accused in murder and drug trafficking were sentenced to death, imprisonment and fines, while two accused including a woman were acquitted by giving the benefit of doubt.

Additional and Sessions Judge Azhar Iqbal Ranjha sentenced Master Hashmat Ali, a convict involved in a case Balochani police station, to death and a fine of Rs1 million.

Additional and Sessions Judge Tandlianwala has sentenced Farhan, a convict in acase registered in police station Mamun Kanji murder case, to death and a fine of Rs5 million, while two accused including a woman, Shafqat and Kanizan Bibi, were acquitted by giving the benefit of doubt. According to the prosecution, Farhan had shot and killed his opponent Muhammad Afzal.

Additional and Sessions Judge Muhammad Arshad has sentenced drug dealer Majid Saleem to nine years in prison and a fine of Rs80,000 in a case registered in Razabad police station case. Additional and Sessions Judge Jaranwala Muhammad Safdar has sentenced Samuel to nine years in prison and a fine of Rs80,000 in a case registered in Kharianwala police station drug case.
