Human trafficker held, foreign currency seized

During an operation against human traffickers, the FIA Composite Circle Faisalabad team arrested Muhammad Ashfaq, a key member of an gang involved in human trafficking, in Khurianwala. Iranian currency was also recovered from the possession of the suspect, who is currently being interrogated.

FIA officials said that the accused is a key member of an organized international gang involved in human trafficking. The gang used to extort huge amounts of money from citizens and send them to Europe via Turkey. With the connivance of other associates, he used to send gullible citizens to Azerbaijan, Turkey and European countries via sea from Turkey on visit visas.

The other associates of the arrested accused Ashfaq are operating the gang from Turkey and other countries.

He was in contact with international agents, the evidence of which is found in the mobile phone seized from him. The accused used to receive huge amounts of money from citizens and send it to other associates living abroad.

He also used to receive commission from the money received from citizens he had transported abroad. An investigation has been initiated with the arrested human smuggler, while raids are underway to arrest his accomplices and abettors.
