DDG has responded to online criticism after revealing that he gifted his one-year-old son a Ferrari for his birthday.

Last week, Darryl Dwayne Granberry Jr., better known as DDG, asked his followers on X, formerly Twitter, what present he should buy for his son’s first birthday. He initially concluded he would buy a Lamborghini, leading fans to assume he was referring to a toy car rather than a real vehicle.

However, the 27-year-old Michigan native surprised fans on Sunday by revealing he had purchased an actual Ferrari for his infant son. On Monday, DDG posted a birthday celebration video on his YouTube channel, showcasing the grand reveal of the brand-new Ferrari for his son, Halo.

In the video, DDG sat with Halo in the driver’s seat, as the toddler played with the steering wheel. DDG’s partner and Halo’s mother, Halle Bailey, also made an appearance. Before posting the video, DDG shared on X that the birthday party cost him $40,000.

The Ferrari reveal was met with online criticism. In response, DDG taunted critics in a post on X, stating that while their children play with toy cars, his son plays with a real Ferrari. He urged detractors to “just work harder gang.”

Known for his 2020 single ‘Moonwalking in Calabasas,’ featuring Blueface, DDG has been in a relationship with Bailey since 2022. The couple welcomed their first child, Halo, on December 22, 2023.
