IShowSpeed shocked that people "try to make money off Fortnite so they can eat", sends KFC to player
IShowSpeed, the 19-year-old YouTuber known for his high-energy streams, showed his compassionate side during a Fortnite match this holiday season. While streaming, Speed encountered a player who admitted to struggling financially, prompting the popular content creator to step in and provide a heartwarming gesture.
The moment unfolded as Speed and the player engaged in a friendly wager of $5. After winning the match, Speed initially asked for the wagered money, only for the other player to reveal that their family would go without food because of the loss. Shocked, Speed asked why they would risk their only money on a Fortnite bet.
“So we can have the opportunity to have more food for our family because we only have $5 to share,” the player explained.
Moved by the response, Speed quickly changed his tone. “Alright, bro, I just sent you some money to your Cash App,” he said. When the payment failed to process, Speed offered a more direct solution. “I’m gonna give you KFC. I’m gonna give you a sixteen-piece chicken meal. Will that do?”
The player expressed gratitude multiple times, thanking Speed for his kindness. The gesture resonated with Speed’s audience, with one fan on X (formerly Twitter) calling him “Santa Speed always giving back to the community.”
