Wendy Williams’ son speaks about her health: "Isolation is killing her faster than anything else.”
Kevin Hunter Jr., son of Wendy Williams, has provided a rare and heartfelt update on his mother’s health amid her battle with frontotemporal dementia. The 24-year-old shared insights into Williams’ current state via Instagram, revealing that the former talk show host is "sober" and eager to leave her current situation.
“She’s sober and wants to come home. We’re fighting to make that happen because isolation is killing her faster than anything else,” Hunter Jr. commented on a post shared by Charlamagne Tha God.
The update follows Williams’ emotional appearance at Hunter Jr.’s college graduation last week. The former Wendy Williams Show host attended the ceremony at Florida International University, where she celebrated her son earning a Bachelor of Arts in Economics.
In February, Williams was diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia and aphasia, leading to her placement in an undisclosed treatment facility. The update on her health comes amidst ongoing guardianship arrangements, which have restricted her family’s access to her.
Williams’ family has expressed concerns over her guardianship, which was court-ordered in 2022 following a letter from Wells Fargo citing issues with her well-being. Last month, her guardian, Sabrina Morrissey, described Williams as "permanently incapacitated."
