Punjab Governor Sardar Saleem Haider Khan said on Monday that the ruling Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) was not implementing the power-sharing agreement with the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) rather it was using delaying tactics on the issue.
Talking to the media in Lahore, the governor called for strengthening the country's information technology (IT) sector, stressing that the youth associated with this sector were bringing foreign exchange to the country.
The governor lamented that the written agreement between the PPP and the PML-N for power sharing was not being implemented. "Only a game of committees is being played by the PML-N," he said. "The PPP wants to maintain its alliance with the government," he added.
Recently, key PPP leaders during a party huddle, attended by the Governor Saleem Haider, conveyed to PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari that the ruling PML-N did not make enough progress on the commitments it had made to the party.
The PPP meeting at Bilawal House in Karachi, last week was also attended Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Governor Faisal Karim Kundi, Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah, Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti and senior PPP leader Syed Naveed Qamar.
Talking to the media on Monday, Sardar Saleem Haider Khan said that the PML-N should think that it had no other option but to implement the agreement with the PPP in letter and spirit. "If the system is folded, it will not be the loss of the PPP alone, rather everyone will be affected.
