Woman arrested for allegedly killing husband
The Sohrab Goth police have arrested a woman on suspicion of killing her husband with the help of her father and brother.
Police claimed that the suspects gave intoxicating substance before strangling the victim and tried to stage the incident as a suicide, however, the murder mystery was solved after the autopsy report.
According to details, the police apprehended the accused Noor Samina, her father Nadeem and her brother Yameen. All the accused are in police custody. SHO Sohrab Goth informed The Express Tribune that on December 22, they received information about a body lying in a house in Jamali Goth, Scheme 33. The police party reached the spot and shifted the body to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital (ASH) for medico-legal proceedings.
The deceased was identified as 28-year-old Shahid Ali son of Muhammad Qasim. The police collected evidence from the crime scene and recorded the statement of the deceased's wife Noor Samina, but the police noticed her statement dubious.
She claimed, when she woke up, she found the body of her husband hanging from the ceiling fan hook. She said, she immediately informed her brother and took down the body with his help and placed it on a chair. Thereafter, the victim's brother approached the police and informed about the incident.
After shifting the body to the hospital, the police waited for the post-mortem report. The SHO stated that the post-mortem report revealed that the victim was given intoxicating substance before being strangled.
Noor Samina confessed to the crime during interrogation and said that that she, with the help of her father and brother, had murdered her husband. The accused said that she had been demanding a divorce from her husband for a long time, but he was not ready for it.
The accused was in love with someone else. On Saturday night, the accused came home at 10pm and the deceased at 1am and they had a heated argument over something and later the accused killed her husband as per the plan. The deceased was an electrician by profession and father of two children.
