Blake Lively’s 30 on-set demands for co-star and others revealed in lawsuit against Justin Baldoni
Blake Lively reportedly made 30 demands of her It Ends With Us co-star and others on set, as detailed in a legal complaint against Justin Baldoni.
The film's production was delayed in 2023 due to a writers' strike. According to the complaint, a meeting was held on January 4, a day before filming resumed, to address the "hostile work environment" on set.
At the meeting, Lively outlined her grievances with Baldoni and Jamey Heath, the CEO of Wayfarer and a producer of the movie. Per the filing, all attendees agreed to her 30 conditions aimed at preventing further issues on set. Many of these demands were related to inappropriate sexual behavior.
The first demand, as noted in the filing reported by The New York Times, was "no more showing of nude videos or images of women, including the producer's wife" to Lively or her staff.
Another notable demand was for people to stop discussing Baldoni and Heath's past "pornography addiction" or Lively's "lack of pornography consumption."
Lively insisted that there be no discussions about anyone's sex life, genitalia, or "personal times that physical consent was not given in sexual acts, as either the abuser or the abused."
She also requested that there be no mention of past HR complaints against Wayfarer Studios, which Baldoni co-founded, and prohibited inquiries into her or her trainer’s weight.
Additional demands included prohibiting Baldoni from discussing her late father or speaking about him. She also objected to Baldoni asking about her religious beliefs or imposing his beliefs on her, including "pressing" to sage her employees.
Regarding health concerns, Lively stated she must be notified immediately if she or her infant are exposed to COVID "again."
She established strict guidelines for filming sex and intimacy scenes, requiring an intimacy coordinator on set at all times and banning "improvised" kissing. "No biting or sucking of lip without [Lively's] consent," the document stated.
Lively also required that all sex scenes include a coordinator and a "monitor" pre-approved by her to supervise. For scenes involving rape or violence, Lively requested that her character be portrayed by a stunt double, with her performing only pre-discussed or close-up scenes.
She prohibited any additional sexual scenes beyond what was originally agreed upon, per the filing.
Lively specified that no touching or sexual comments from Baldoni or Heath would "be tolerated" by her or other women on set. All intimate scenes required monitoring by a representative approved by Lively, and only trained professionals vetted by her could work on these scenes—not "friends" of the producer or director.
She further stated that she would not film nude scenes without a SAG-compliant nudity rider.
The filing alleged that Baldoni and Heath entered or attempted to enter Lively’s trailer while she was undressed. She demanded "no more entering” while she was not clothed.
She asserted that she would no longer endure "multi-hour" unmonitored meetings with Baldoni crying in her trailer.
