'Sonic the Hedgehog 3' post-credits scenes introduce new characters and bring back a familiar face

The movie's two post-credits scenes unveil Amy Rose and Metal Sonic while teasing Shadow’s dramatic return.

Sonic the Hedgehog 3 introduces Amy Rose, Metal Sonic, and hints at Shadow’s comeback in two thrilling post-credits scenes, setting up the franchise’s exciting future.

In the mid-credits scene, Sonic (voiced by Ben Schwartz) finds himself racing into unfamiliar territory, only to be ambushed by an army of Metal Sonics. These robotic adversaries, a creation of Dr. Ivo Robotnik (Jim Carrey), are iconic foes from the Sonic video game series. Just as the situation turns dire, a hooded figure wielding a massive Piko Piko Hammer smashes through the robots.

The figure reveals herself as Amy Rose, a pink hedgehog known for her spirited personality and unwavering affection for Sonic. While Amy doesn’t speak in the film, her dramatic introduction hints at an exciting role in future installments. Casting details for Amy’s voice actor are yet to be announced.

In the post-credits scene, Shadow (voiced by Keanu Reeves), presumed dead earlier in the movie, is shown alive and recovering at what appears to be a meteor crash site. His survival ensures he remains a central character as Team Sonic prepares to battle a growing army of Metal Sonics in Sonic the Hedgehog 4, set for release in spring 2027.

Director Jeff Fowler teased these developments, saying the team had “fun debates” about which characters to introduce. With Amy Rose and Shadow now joining the fray, Sonic fans have plenty to look forward to as the cinematic universe expands.
