BTS’s Jungkook discusses Big Bang's new song and AI on live: "It feels like AI sings better than me"
BTS's Jungkook delighted fans during a heartfelt two-hour live broadcast via Weverse, where he opened up about his musical inspirations and shared a glimpse of his personal life. The stream, which attracted over 20 million viewers, highlighted Jungkook’s deep admiration for K-pop legends Big Bang, particularly G-Dragon’s latest track, “Home Sweet Home.”
“I’ve been a hardcore fan of Big Bang since I was a kid,” Jungkook confessed. “Hearing about their comeback made me so happy. I even got chills singing along to their new song while in the military.” He sang iconic Big Bang hits like “Niliria” and “Who You?” and reminisced about how it was almost a rite of passage for his generation to perform Big Bang songs at karaoke.
Beyond fan tributes, Jungkook showcased his versatile vocals, performing live song requests including tracks by Rosé, Park Hyo Shin, and Bruno Mars. He also gave fans a virtual “house tour” of his personal hideout, a cozy spot located in the second basement floor of his space.
However, Jungkook didn’t shy away from sharing personal struggles. Reflecting on the rapid advancements in AI technology, he said, “Sometimes it feels like AI sings better than me. I’ve been feeling a drop in self-esteem, but it’s pushing me to work harder.” He added, “I want to make a comeback and get back on stage as soon as possible,” heightening fan anticipation.
Currently serving in the military as a sergeant in the 5th Infantry Division, Jungkook is scheduled to complete his service on June 11, 2025.
