Jeff Bezos took to Instagram to celebrate fiancée Lauren Sánchez’s 55th birthday on Thursday, Dec. 19, praising her for an “incredible year” filled with personal and professional milestones.

“What an incredible year — you set your mind to writing a children’s book and now you’re a NYT best selling author,” Bezos, 60, wrote, referencing Sánchez’s debut children’s book, The Fly Who Flew to Space. He added, “I have a feeling your next trip around the sun will be just as amazing. Happy birthday, baby!” The post included a photo of the couple alongside a cardboard cutout of Flynn, the star of her book.

Sánchez, who reposted the tribute to her Instagram Stories with the caption, “My love 🤍❤️,” reflected earlier this year on her journey as an author. In September, she revealed to PEOPLE that she overcame challenges with dyslexia to publish the book. “Never in a million years did I think a dyslexic kid from Albuquerque would ever be an author,” she said, adding, “The journey wasn’t easy, but I’m really excited for people to meet Flynn the fly.”

Along with becoming a New York Times bestselling author, Sánchez was honored in January with the Elling Halvorson Vertical Flight Hall of Fame Award for her achievements as a helicopter pilot and aviation business leader. She also celebrated major milestones with her children, including her youngest son’s recent acceptance to the University of Miami.

The couple, who became engaged in May 2023, enjoyed an intimate pre-birthday dinner at Mar-a-Lago with President-elect Donald Trump on Dec. 18, according to The New York Post.
