Madison Beer talks Grammy nod, Megan Fox comparison: "I don’t even look like her"

The 'Make You Mine' singer reflects on Grammy nomination shock, Megan Fox comparisons, and embracing authenticity.

In a new interview with Rolling Stone, Madison Beer opens up about her second Grammy nomination for her hit song “Make You Mine,” expressing disbelief at the recognition. The 2025 Grammy nod for Best Dance Pop Recording marks a significant milestone in Beer’s decade-long music career.

“The night before, my team was like, ‘It’s going to happen,’ and I was like, ‘No, stop. Everyone shut up. It’s not happening,’” Beer recalls. Her excitement reached new heights when her name was announced first in the category. “I jumped up so crazy. My boyfriend thought we were in a nuclear war,” she joked about her exuberant reaction.

Beer also touched on her Jennifer’s Body-inspired music video for the song, which pays homage to Megan Fox’s iconic role. “Fans have been asking me for years to do something related to Jennifer’s Body. I was hesitant because I didn’t want people to think I think I’m her,” she explained. “I’m also like, ‘Girl, I don’t even look like her. She has blue eyes.’ But I’m honored.”

Reflecting on the success of “Make You Mine,” Beer noted the song’s casual creation and unexpected rise to fame. “It was made for my tour. I wanted something dancey, and it just clicked with fans.”

Beer’s journey from viral YouTube covers in 2012 to Grammy-nominated artist showcases her growth and dedication to authenticity. She emphasized her commitment to staying true to herself despite industry pressures. “Honestly, win or not, the recognition is there forever. I’m over the moon.”
