Man killed, another injured resisting robbery attempt
Robbers killed a man and injured another during a robbery within the limits of Roshan police station. City Police Officer (CPO) took notice of the incident and sought a detailed report from SP Iqbal Town and formed special teams to arrest the accused involved.
Police handed over the body of the deceased to his family after postmortem and registered a case of the incident. According to a police spokesperson, 50-year-old Sarwar, a resident of Naya Moana, was returning home on foot after selling cattle in Naya Moana Mandi along with his son 29-year-old son Usman.
When they reached Medina Paradise, three robbers on a motorcycle snatched Rs140,000 from the father and son. When the victim resisted, the robbers shot Sarwar and Usman and injured them. The injured were being shifted to the hospital when Muhammad Sarwar succumbed to his injuries on the spot.
Upon receiving information about the incident, police officers including SSP Investigation Rana Abdul Wahab, SP Iqbal Town Abid Hussain Zafar, DSP Factory Area Rana Atta-ur-Rehman reached the spot.
Police collected evidence from the spot and handed over the body of the deceased to his family after postmortem. The condition of Usman, who was injured in the hospital, is said to be out of danger.
