Civil disobedience deferred over allies' advice: Khosa

.

ISLAMABAD:

A day after the PTI clarified that the civil disobedience movement has been temporarily delayed, party leader Sardar Latif Khosa revealed on Wednesday the decision was taken following consultations with key allies.

The decision, he said, was influenced by advice from figures such as Mahmood Khan Achakzai, the chairman of the Pashtoonkhwa Milli Awami Party (PkMAP) and head of the opposition alliance and Sardar Akhtar Mengal, the head of

the Balochistan National Party (BNP).

"Imran Khan made this decision after discussions with his political allies who advised him on the course of action," Khosa said.

Speaking to the media outside the Islamabad High Court (IHC), Khosa stressed that without political stability, economic stability was unattainable, and urged the government to focus on resolving the political crisis.

The PTI leader also lamented the current state of the judiciary.

"The passage of the 26th Amendment has made it evident that the judiciary is now fully under control," he claimed, adding that any hope the public had for impartial justice has been "crushed by biased decisions".

Moreover, he accused the PPP of betraying JUI-F chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman.

He lamented that while the 26th Amendment was successfully passed, President Asif Ali Zardari rejected the madrassa registration bill proposed by Maulana Fazlur Rehman.

"Maulana is a shrewd politician who knows how to benefit from every alliance. He challenges the establishment when needed but also maintains proximity with them."
