64th polio case of the year reported in Jacobabad

Another case of polio has been reported in the country, bringing the total number of children afflicted by the disease to 64 this year.

The latest case, from Jacobabad in Sindh, has been confirmed by the National Health Institute's laboratory.

This is also the fourth polio case of the year from Jacobabad. There have been 26 cases from Balochistan, 18 from K-P, and as many from Sindh. One polio case each has been reported from Punjab and Islamabad.

The Regional Reference Laboratory for Polio Eradication at the National Institute of Health confirmed the detection of the 64th polio case.
