Le’Andria Johnson, the renowned U.S. gospel singer, was arrested on December 16, 2024, in Greenville County, South Carolina, for public drunkenness.

The arrest, which occurred around 3:37 p.m., adds another troubling chapter to Johnson’s ongoing battle with alcoholism. According to inmate records, the 41-year-old singer, standing 5’8” and weighing 192 lbs, was booked into the Greenville County Detention Center and remains in custody without bond.

This incident is part of Johnson’s well-documented history of struggles with alcohol. She had previously been arrested and served 30 days in jail after violating probation for a public drunkenness charge. Johnson has long been transparent about her issues, sharing her personal experiences at various public events.

One notable occasion was during a Family and Friends Day event at Holy Ghost Headquarters Revival Center, where she recounted a past arrest for public drunkenness after being pulled over while returning from a bar.

Johnson’s recent arrest has sparked mixed reactions on social media. Some fans have expressed sympathy, recognizing her ongoing battle with addiction, while others argue she should face the same scrutiny as anyone else in a similar situation.

Born on January 23, 1983, in Palatka, Florida, Johnson rose to fame after winning Season 3 of BET's Sunday Best. Her debut album, ‘The Awakening of Le’Andria Johnson’, topped the U.S. Billboard Gospel Albums chart, and she later enjoyed two successful follow-up albums.

With an estimated net worth of $9 million, Johnson is also a mother of three and has been candid about her struggles with both her career and personal life.
