Mahira Khan reveals missed Indian web series offer from 15 years ago

Indian filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali, had expressed interest in casting the Pakistani actress.

Pakistani actress Mahira Khan recently revealed that she was offered a role in the popular web series Heeramandi 15 years ago.

The actress shared this fascinating tidbit during a recent interview.

Mahira, who made her Bollywood debut with Raees, disclosed that the offer for Heeramandi came while she was in Mumbai attending a friend's wedding.

She explained that her friend was at renowned designers Rizwan and Moin Baig studio, selecting a wedding outfit when they were discussing the search for a Pakistani actress.

Mahira's friend suggested her, as she was a popular TV VJ at the time.

This led to a meeting with renowned Indian filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali, who expressed interest in casting her for Heeramandi.

However, due to the diplomatic tensions between India and Pakistan following the Taj incident, the opportunity was lost.

Bhansali was also preoccupied with the debut film of Ranbir Kapoor and Sonam Kapoor at the time, which further delayed any potential collaboration.
