Lily Allen has opened up about her mental health struggles, revealing that she’s been experiencing a disconnection from eating since relocating to New York with her children, Ethel Mary and Marnie Rose, and husband David Harbour.

During a recent episode of her Miss Me? podcast with best friend Miquita Oliver, the 39-year-old singer admitted, “I’m really not in a great place mentally at the moment, and I’m not eating. I’m not hungry.”

Allen explained that her brain and body feel disconnected: The messages of hunger are not going through my body to my brain. I’m not avoiding food. I’m just not thinking about it because I’m so in my head.”

She also revealed that although the eating issue had been ongoing for “about three years", it hadn’t felt like a priority to address: “It’s not because I’m lying… it just hasn’t seemed like the most important thing to talk about, but obviously, it is.”

Allen, who previously discussed similar struggles, shared that her ADHD complicates her ability to see “the bigger picture,” contributing to the disconnect between her mental and physical health.

The singer also reflected on her move to America, noting cultural differences in support systems. She explained that Americans are more encouraging, saying, “It’s a much more encouraging environment in which my children can thrive.”

In the past, Allen has faced public scrutiny over her weight loss, defending her lifestyle choices, sobriety, and exercise habits.

Allen’s candid confession sheds light on the ongoing challenges of balancing mental health, parenting, and personal growth after uprooting her family’s life to pursue new opportunities.
