Two cops martyred, four injured in Shangla terrorist attack

Terrorists launched an attack on a police post in the Shangla district of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P), leaving two police officers martyred and four others injured

According to the police, unidentified terrorists launched an attack on the Gnanagar Police Post, located in the Chakisar area of Shangla, Express News reported.

Authorities confirmed that in the attack on the Chakisar Gnanagar Police Post, two officers were martyred, and four others were injured.

The martyred officers were identified as SHO Muhammad Hassan Khan and Constable Nisar Khan. Among the injured were Constable Mirza Arshad Iqbal, Constable Arshad Gnanagar, and two other officers.

According to police officials, one of the injured constables is from the Mera area.

Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi condemned the attack on the police post by the Khawarij terrorists and paid tribute to the two martyred police officers.

The Interior Minister expressed sorrow and regret over the martyrdom of ASI Hassan Khan and Head Constable Nisar Khan, offering heartfelt condolences and sympathy to their families.

Mohsin Naqvi also prayed for the swift recovery of the three injured police officers, stating, "ASI Hassan Khan and Head Constable Nisar Khan attained the high rank of martyrdom."

He emphasized, "Martyrs are our pride, and we stand with their families. The officers and soldiers of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Police have played a frontline role in the fight against terrorism."

Naqvi further remarked, "The sacrifices of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Police in this war cannot be forgotten. We salute the brave sons of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Police."

Previously security forces neutralised 43 terrorists in various intelligence based operations conducted in K-P and Balochistan, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the media wing of the military, said on Friday.

It said that 18 terrorists were eliminated in the IBOs in K-P, while 25 were killed in Balochistan. These IBOs, the ISPR said in a statement, caused "a major setback to Fitna-Al- Khwarij & other terrorist groups operating in Balochistan".

The statement said that six terrorists were killed in Lakki Marwat district of K-P, and 10 others in two IBOs in Musakhel and Panjgur districts of Balochistan, overnight and on Friday, raising the number of the terrorists killed in the security forces operations to 43 since December 9.
