The Ittehad-e-Tanzeemat-e-Madaris has demanded the immediate issuance of a gazette notification for the Madrassa Registration Bill. A meeting of the Ittehad-e-Tanzeemat-e-Madaris was held in Islamabad on Monday, Express News reported.
After the meeting, Rehman, accompanied by Mufti Taqi Usmani and Mufti Munib-ur-Rehman, addressed a joint press conference. He said the madrassa bill was not controversial, as it had already been approved by Parliament.
He questioned whether any objections were raised after the bill’s approval and clarified that their grievance was with the government, stressing that their stance was in line with the Constitution and the law. He added that they did not wish to engage in any negative rhetoric.
Mufti Munib stated that the madrassa bill had become an Act, and the president of Pakistan had not raised any objections during the 10-day review period. He insisted that, as per the law, the Gazette notification should be issued immediately.
He also warned that if a decision contrary to the approval of the madrassa bill was made, they would come together to discuss the matter and announce their next course of action.
Meanwhile, a meeting between Rehman and the central leaders of Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan is scheduled for Tuesday wherein discussions on the Schools Registration Bill are expected to take place.
