Nine people, including former federal minister Shireen Mazari, have been formally charged in the case related to the May 9 GHQ attack.

In a separate development, senior Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader and former foreign minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi was transferred from Kot Lakhpat Jail in Lahore to Adiala Jail in Rawalpindi. However, the indictment proceedings against him have been postponed.

The Rawalpindi Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) today heard 14 cases related to the May 9 incident.

Judge Amjad Ali Shah conducted the proceedings at Adiala Jail, where the accused were presented.

The court recorded the attendance of the defendants in all cases and subsequently adjourned the hearing of 13 cases related to the May 9 incident until January 6.

Additionally, a hearing took place for another case concerning the GHQ attack, with former interior minister Sheikh Rashid Ahmad, former human rights minister Shireen Mazari, and former Punjab law minister Raja Basharat, along with other accused, appearing before the court.

Shah Mehmood Qureshi was transferred to Adiala Jail for the case hearing, and PTI founding chairman Imran Khan was also presented in the courtroom.

The prosecution filed a petition for the cancellation of bail for 23 accused, including Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur, who have been continuously absent from court.

During the proceedings, the court formally indicted Shireen Mazari, Raja Rashid Khafeez, Khadim Hussain, Zakarullah, Azimullah Khan, Major Tahir Sadiq, Mehr Mohammad Javed, and Chaudhry Asif.

The court issued notices to all the accused and adjourned the case until December 19 for further hearings.

Prosecutor Zaheer Shah stated that Shah Mehmood Qureshi, Ajmal Sabir, and Sikandar Bajwa refused to sign the charge sheet, claiming that the evidence against them was incomplete and that they had filed a 265-D request, refusing to sign.

The court decided to postpone the indictment for these three individuals.

PTI leaders Fawad Chaudhry, Babar Awan, Sheikh Rashid, and others met with Imran Khan after the hearing, but Imran Khan did not speak to the media.

Later, under heavy security, Shah Mehmood Qureshi was sent back to Lahore.
