Three muggers caught robbing citizen in DHA

Police seize two pistols, three snatched bikes, eight mobile phones from suspects

KARACHI:

Defence police on Sunday caught redhanded three suspected muggers robbing a citizen, identified as Akhtar Shah, and recovered eight mobile phones, three motorcycles, and two pistols with ammunition. Their fourth accomplice managed to escape.

District South SSP Sajid Saduzai identified the arrested muggers as Sherdil, Abdul Rafi, and Darvesh, while their accomplice, Altaf Solangi, fled the scene. According to SSP Saduzai, the recovered motorcycles were reported stolen in cases registered at Quaidabad and Site A police stations.

SHO Adeel Afzal stated that the arrested robbers have been involved in several cases of snatching and stealing motorcycles from various parts of the metropolitan city.

Police said that their efforts are ongoing to arrest the fourth suspect as formal investigation has been launched.

Earlier, Defence police arrested two suspects following an exchange of fire in the A area of Qayyumabad within the limits of the Defense Police Station.

The injured accused, identified as Qasim Shah, was arrested along with his accomplice, Muhammad Imran, according to SHO Defence Adeel Afzal. A weapon, three mobile phones, and a 125 motorcycle were seized from their possession. Qasim Shah, who sustained injuries during the encounter, was shifted to Jinnah Hospital for medical attention. Police are further investigating the accused.
