CM, governor issue messages on 10th anniversary

Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur has termed the tragic massacre at Army Public School (APS) Peshawar as one of the most sorrowful events in the nation's history.

He described it as an unforgettable tragedy that brought tears to every eye 10 years ago, and continues to do so to this day.

He said the horrific APS attack laid the foundation for lasting peace in the country, and united the entire nation, government, and institutions against a common enemy.

"The grief of the APS martyrs still lives in our hearts and will always remain," he stated in a message released on the 10th anniversary of the heartbreaking APS tragedy on December 16, 2014.

The Chief Minister said that today serves as a painful reminder of the day when the enemies of humanity mercilessly killed innocent young students. He added that following this tragic incident, the entire nation and institutions united to eradicate the scourge of terrorism from society.

The government, political, and military leadership came together to draft the National Action Plan, which proved to be a timely and effective step toward a peaceful Pakistan.

He acknowledged that December 16 is a day of immense anguish for the affected parents, as it marks the day they lost their beloved children forever.

"However, their sacrifice has written a tale of courage and resilience that will never be forgotten."

Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Governor Faisal Karim Kundi, in his message on the 10th anniversary of the Army Public School (APS) tragedy in Peshawar, paid tribute to the nearly 150 innocent children, teachers, and staff members who were martyred in the horrific incident. He also expressed deep sympathy with their families.

"This day reminds us of the great sacrifice of the innocent martyrs who fell victim to the brutality of terrorists in their pursuit of education." The governor reiterated the nation's resolve, emphasising that the people of Pakistan remain united against terrorism and will never forget the sacrifices of the martyrs.
