Mahira Khan finds solace among the trees
Mahira Khan is not one to shy away from philosophising about the little things in life, and this time, an abundance of greenery was on her mind. Taking to Instagram, she shared a carousel of trees and waxed lyrical about mother nature's viridescent gift.
The carousel went on to depict nature's hand at creativity through different shots of treesone that shadowed benches, others silhouetted by the redness of the sunken sun, the homeliness of a palm tree, and so forth. Towards the end, Mahira also added a picture of her posing against a gigantic tree.
"I'm fascinated by trees, always have been. I'm pretty sure it started because of Ama telling me a story my Nana used to tell (will tell another day). I just love them. I'm a certified tree hugger and starer," she wrote in the caption. "They feel like old Sufi saints to me. Sometimes, I feel them gazing directly into my soul, and sometimes I feel like they're welcoming me into their company. Full of lessons and wisdom."
Adding a quote from Herman Hesse, she said, "I read this and it's so beautiful, 'When we are stricken and cannot bear our lives any longer, then a tree has something to say to us: Be still! Be still! Look at me! Life is not easy, life is not difficult. Those are childish thoughts. . . . Home is neither here nor there. Home is within you, or home is nowhere at all.'
'Whoever has learned how to listen to trees no longer wants to be a tree. He wants to be nothing except what he is. That is home. That is happiness!'" she finished. The true conclusion of the caption was a green heart to drive the point home.
However, the Ho Mann Jahaan actor's love for nature does not stop at trees. In fact, she's also fond of incorporating those touches in the outfits she wears.
Like the true style icon that she is, she draped a dark red sari that complimented her beauty in all its "desi girl" goodness, in an earlier post. Flaunting a dangly pair of earrings, the Superstar actor also wore a green set of bangles, giving the impression of an appropriately placed stem holding together the petals of a bloomed red rose.
Speaking of flowers, the elegant look was softened with a ring of motia tied around her hair. But that's not all. Sharing more on the outfit's lore on her Instagram handle, Mahira wrote, "Wore this sari two nights in a row. My friends call it 'guts'. I call it 'who cares?'"
