KARACHI:

An eight-year-old girl has died during treatment, marking the second death caused by exposure to insecticide fumes at a bungalow in DHA. The girl's younger brother had succumbed earlier, while their three other siblings and parents remain hospitalised.

The tragedy took place on Thursday in a bungalow located on Khayaban-e-Sehar, DHA, where fumigation reportedly led to toxic exposure. The affected family includes Dr Ziaud Din Shaikh, his wife, and their five children: Jannat, 8, Zara, 16, Moinuddin, 5, Zohaib, 13, and Shah Zain, 11. Following the fumigation, all seven family members lost consciousness and were rushed to a private hospital.

Moinuddin, the youngest sibling, passed away shortly after the toxic exposure. Jannat, who was in critical condition, died the next day. Police sources have attributed the tragedy to the insecticide used during fumigation. The parents and three surviving siblings are still under treatment.
