'Trade corridors to Central Asia crucial'

Federal Minister for Privatisation, Board of Investment, and Communications, Abdul Aleem Khan, has underscored the critical importance of establishing trade corridors from Pakistan to Central Asian countries, stressing that such corridors are the need of the hour. He also noted that access to ports can significantly enhance bilateral trade opportunities. The minister made these remarks during a meeting with Kazakhstan's Ambassador to Pakistan, Yerzhan Kastafin.

Highlighting the potential of Pakistani products, the federal minister remarked that, under the current economic circumstances, Central Asian countries could greatly benefit from sourcing goods from Pakistan. To further elevate trade volumes, he proposed the establishment of industrial product display centres, which would serve as one-stop facilities where foreign business communities could explore and purchase Pakistani products.

Aleem Khan also underscored the importance of improving Pakistan's road infrastructure, calling it a fundamental step toward attracting foreign investment. He pointed out that boosting foreign investment is a top priority for Pakistan and is essential for revitalising the country's economy.

In response, Ambassador Yerzhan Kastafin held a detailed discussion with the minister regarding avenues for investment, commerce, and trade corridors in Pakistan. Kastafin expressed Kazakhstan's keen interest in enhancing trade and economic ties with Pakistan, describing such relations as mutually beneficial.
