Balochistan announces winter holidays for educational institutions
Balochistan's education department has announced the winter holidays for schools and colleges in the province. According to the notification issued by the provincial education department, winter holidays have been divided into two categories based on the region's climate.
For cold regions, the winter break will be longer, running from December 16, 2024, to February 28, 2025. Meanwhile, in the warmer regions, the holidays will be shorter, scheduled from December 22 to December 31, 2024.
The announcement comes as temperatures in Balochistan continue to drop. The Pakistan Meteorological Department has forecast dry and cold weather across most parts of the province over the next 24 hours. In mountainous areas, the temperature is expected to dip further, particularly in the mornings and evenings.
The meteorological department has recorded a minimum temperature of minus 5°C in Ziarat and Kalat, while Zhob saw a minimum of minus 3°C. Other areas such as Sibi recorded 8°C, Turbat 11°C, Nokkundi -1°C, Chaman 1°C, Gwadar 13°C, and Jiwani 14°C.
