Bodies of five road crash victims sent to Quetta
The bodies of five members of the same family, who were killed in a road accident on the Quetta-Karachi highway in Lasbela district, have been sent to their ancestral town in Quetta after medico-legal formalities and religious rites in Karachi.
The victims - including four women and a young girl - were en route to Karachi when a speeding truck collided head-on with their car near Winder, Lasbela district. The victims, who belonged to Quetta's Hazara Colony, were travelling to Karachi to visit a family member undergoing cancer treatment.
They were identified as 60-year-old Rubaba Qurban, 32-year-old Sharifa Ali, 20-year-old Anas Gul, 27-year-old Maria Batool, and six-year-old Mehreen.
According to family members, the crash occurred when the speeding truck coming from the opposite direction rammed into the car near Adam-Khand in Windar. All the victims died on the spot.
The bodies were initially shifted to Winder Hospital, from where they were transported to Imambargah Abul Fazl Abbas in Karachi's Hussain Hazara Goth, where the last rites, including bathing and shrouding were performed. On Thursday, the bodies were sent back to Quetta, where they will be laid to rest in the Hazara Colony graveyard.
