CJ forms panel for jail reforms in Sindh
Chief Justice Yahya Afridi has established a Jail Reforms Committee for Sindh during a meeting held on Thursday at the Supreme Court Karachi Registry.
According to a statement issued by the Supreme Court registrar, the meeting, chaired by CJ Afridi, aimed at addressing critical challenges within the correctional system.
During the meeting, the CJ underscored the importance of a collective effort to ensure that the inmates are dealt with humanely and in accordance with law. He said stressed the need to prioritize cases involving inmates awaiting decisions for over three years and proposed developing mechanisms to expedite such cases.
