Vawda believes Imran will never walk free

Hopes case against Gen Faiz does not result in death penalty

KARACHI:

Senator Faisal Vawda believes that PTI founder Imran Khan will not come out of jail because too much time has passed.

He also expressed hope that the matter involving Faiz Hameed and his associates does not escalate to the death penalty.

During a private TV programme, Vawda said that a charge sheet has been prepared against Faiz Hameed, and now punishments will be determined.

"Faiz Hameed has provided evidence and proof." He emphasised the importance of the assassination attempt case against the PTI founder, adding that another case will surface which will shake the PTI founder's position.

"Space must be created and negotiated through dialogue," he stated. "No one has addressed the theft of Maulana Fazlur Rehman's mandate in K-P. Before the assassination attempt on the PTI founder, he was warned about the impending attack."

He asked who benefitted the most from the assassination attempt. "Who was supposed to gain? When evidence is provided, including laptops, phones, everything will come to light."

He claimed that another name was involved in the assassination attempt. "It will also come forward. This person is currently very close to the PTI founder and was involved in the attack." He added that blame could also be placed on Qamar Bajwa, but it becomes difficult when two powerful figures join forces.

"When the Prime Minister and DG ISI are aligned, what could the army chief have done?"

Faisal Vawda claimed that the PTI founder extensively used Faiz Hameed, adding, "Credit should be given to the army chief, as no powerful figure can escape justice. Why are Murad Saeed and Hammad Azhar hiding and not coming forward?"

He remarked several respected PML-N members were no longer part of the party. "Nawaz Sharif has an issue where he always blames others."
