Man, son among 3 killed in Thikriwala shooting
Three people, including a father and his teenage son, were killed and two others critically injured when assailants opened indiscriminate fire on their car in Thikriwala area.
The victims were traveling in their car from 83 Gilalipur towards Panisara when they were ambushed near 81 Pindori Chowk.
The attackers, reportedly led by Yasir Mushtaq, a resident of 83 JB, opened fire on the vehicle from a tented area.
The shooting resulted in the deaths of 14-year-old Muhammad Asher Shahbaz, his 45-year-old father Shahbaz Abdul Razzaq, and his uncle Shahzad Abdul Razzaq.
Two other passengers, 50-year-old Muhammad Shafiq Nazir Ahmed and 55-year-old Mian Farooq alias Mian Bagga, sustained critical injuries and were rushed to Allied Hospital for treatment.
Driver Mian Farooq managed to flee the ambush with the injured passengers, but Asher and Shahbaz succumbed to their injuries inside the car.
Shahzad also died before reaching the hospital.
The incident drew immediate attention from senior police officials, including CPO Faisalabad Kamran Adil, SSP Investigation Rana Abdul Wahab, and SP Madina Town Saad Arshad, who reached the scene to oversee the investigation.
The bodies were taken into police custody and shifted to the hospital for post-mortem examination.
RPO Faisalabad Dr Muhammad Abid Khan and CPO Kamran Adil have taken strict notice of the triple murder and directed SP Iqbal Town to submit a detailed report. Special police teams have been formed to apprehend the suspects, with instructions to investigate all aspects of the case.
The violent attack caused widespread panic, drawing a large crowd to the crime scene. The local neighborhood remains gripped by fear, as the victims were on their way to work when the shooting occurred.
RPO Dr Abid Khan emphasized swift action to bring the perpetrators to justice, urging a thorough investigation to uncover the motives behind the attack. He also instructed that the injured receive prompt and adequate medical care.
