Young Thug is requesting a modification of his probation terms after agreeing to a non-negotiated plea in the YSL RICO case.
The rapper, whose real name is Jeffery Williams, is asking the court to permit him to visit family in the metro Atlanta area, where he has relatives and a home. As part of his plea deal, Young Thug was given several strict conditions, including a 10-year ban from the metro Atlanta area. However, just two months after accepting the plea, Thug’s legal team filed a motion to amend these terms.
According to WSBTV, the motion emphasizes that Williams has family in the area and requests permission to visit or reside at his Atlanta home for family gatherings and holidays. The motion also raises privacy concerns, particularly regarding his Florida home address, which is required to be made public under Florida law. Thug’s attorneys have requested that this address not be disclosed online for safety reasons.
Although the motion has been filed, it remains unclear whether Young Thug will be able to visit Atlanta for the holidays. His legal team has requested a hearing, but no date has been set. In a recent conversation with his lawyer, Young Thug expressed some regret over his plea deal, especially after seeing two YSL co-defendants acquitted of charges. While happy for them, he reflected on the possibility that he could have achieved a not guilty verdict had he gone to trial.
