50 Cent announces documentary on Luigi Mangione, UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson's killer

50 Cent has always had a knack for identifying captivating stories, and his latest project seems to reflect that talent.

The rapper took to Instagram on December 10 to announce plans for a documentary on Luigi Mangione, the man accused of assassinating UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson.

The announcement comes as Mangione’s manifesto, which outlines his frustration with the U.S. healthcare system, has gone public.

"I don’t know, I kinda like this killer," 50 Cent wrote on Instagram, sparking widespread reactions. He went on to quote Mangione’s plainspoken statements, which he found intriguing. "Frankly, these parasites simply had it coming," Mangione allegedly wrote in his manifesto. He criticized the U.S. healthcare system as the "most expensive in the world" while ranking poorly in life expectancy.

50 Cent elaborated on his decision to create the documentary, stating, "I’m sorry this is going this way it is but I’m doing a documentary on him. He is special! I apologize in advance for anyone who doesn’t understand."

This isn’t 50 Cent’s first foray into storytelling with a dark edge. Known for the success of Power and his upcoming Netflix documentary on Diddy, the rapper has proven time and again that he knows how to hook an audience with compelling, controversial narratives.

Beyond his new project, 50 Cent has also been active on social media, weighing in on the recent allegations against fellow rapper Jay-Z.

In one post, 50 mocked Jay-Z’s decision to attend a red carpet event amidst the allegations, writing, "Jay said they said I rapped [sic] a kid, everybody get dressed we going to see Mufasa LOL."

While some fans expressed mixed reactions to his comments and upcoming documentary, it’s clear that 50 Cent knows how to keep people talking—and watching.
