The Malibu Franklin Fire has ignited concerns for residents and high-profile celebrities as it rapidly spreads through the scenic coastal city. Strong winds and dry conditions have intensified the blaze, which erupted late Monday and quickly moved south, crossing the Pacific Coast Highway and reaching the ocean.

Homes of several celebrities, including Beyoncé, Jay-Z, Jennifer Aniston, and Lady Gaga, are reportedly at risk. Oscar-winning actress Mira Sorvino confirmed evacuating her family via social media, expressing her prayers for neighbors' safety. Actor Dick Van Dyke, who turns 99 this week, also shared that he and his wife had fled with their pets, though one cat remained unaccounted for.

The fire has already prompted evacuation orders for over 2,000 homes, with an additional 6,000 residents on high alert. By Tuesday afternoon, meteorologists reported that the strongest winds had subsided but warned of lingering risks, particularly in mountainous areas.

Firefighters are working tirelessly to protect Malibu’s iconic landmarks, including the historic Malibu Pier, which narrowly avoided damage. Officials stated that the fire’s erratic behavior, driven by gusts reaching 40 mph, has complicated containment efforts.

This fire rekindles memories of the devastating Woolsey Fire in 2018, which destroyed 1,600 homes and claimed three lives. While the cause of the Franklin Fire remains unknown, its impact has already left a mark on the Malibu community.
