Boxing legend Floyd Mayweather faced a hostile mob while shopping in London’s Hatton Garden. The incident reportedly stemmed from his vocal support for Israel. Dressed in a green Louis Vuitton jacket, Mayweather attracted attention as he browsed luxury stores before being confronted by a group of men accusing him of supporting genocide.

Eyewitnesses described chaotic scenes as approximately 10 people attempted to approach Mayweather, using racial slurs and taking swings at him. His security team intervened, eventually bundling him into a black 4x4 as drinks were thrown, and the vehicle sped away. A source close to Mayweather clarified that he was not physically harmed during the altercation.

The attack occurred days after Mayweather announced the Mayweather Israel Initiative, aimed at supporting orphans in Israel. His staunch backing of Israel has been a point of contention, particularly following his visits to the region and public meetings with Israeli officials, including Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

Mayweather's history of supporting Israel includes hosting barbecues for Israel Defense Forces troops and denouncing Hamas’ October 7 attacks. While the altercation was short-lived, it highlights the growing tensions surrounding pro-Israel stances amid international conflicts.

The boxing legend, who retired undefeated in 2017, continues to engage in exhibition matches and business ventures, ranging from real estate to fitness gyms. Despite the incident, Mayweather remains outspoken about his beliefs, stating that he stands firmly by his support for Israel.

The episode underscores the risks faced by high-profile individuals taking political stances, especially on contentious global issues. Investigations into the incident are ongoing.
