Taylor Swift has released the official music video for her single Opalite, offering fans a series of Easter eggs referencing her career, past lyrics, and personal life. The video debuted on YouTube on February 8, 2026.

Swift confirmed one major Easter egg on X (formerly Twitter), explaining that the music video’s cast includes all the stars she appeared with on The Graham Norton Show in October 2025, along with some backup dancers from her Eras Tour. The singer recounted how co-panelist Domhnall Gleeson joked about wanting to appear in one of her videos, which inspired her to invite the entire group to participate in the ’90s-themed production.

Among the hidden details spotted by fans:

  • Pet rock references: Swift’s pet rock appears with a friendship bracelet and face glitter, alluding to her Eras Tour and her relationship with fiancé Travis Kelce. She also uses the rock as a dumbbell in one scene, symbolically referencing the emotional “weight” of relationships described in her song So Long, London.

  • Lyrics and past songs: A painting and movie poster depicting Portofino, Italy, references her song Elizabeth Taylor. Other nods include a string tied around her red dress, interpreted as a callback to Invisible String from Folklore, and a George Michael poster tying to her track Father Figure from The Life of a Showgirl.

  • Personal touches: Swift gives the rock a seat at a bar, echoing a line from Lover, and incorporates her white cat into the video. Fans also noted her spraying herself with “Opalite,” possibly referencing lyrics from Anti-Hero about self-reflection in relationships.

  • Other subtle Easter eggs: The rock wears a “fuck u 4ever” friendship bracelet, referencing her lyric in Mad Woman, and a caption reading “garbage is still garbage” nods to her 2023 Time interview where she discussed lessons learned from public criticism.

Additionally, actress Greta Lee appears in the video, recreating Swift’s acoustic Opalite cover art, further tying the visual narrative to Swift’s broader artistic history.

The Opalite music video continues Swift’s tradition of layering multiple personal, professional, and lyrical references, offering fans opportunities to explore hidden meanings and callbacks across her career.
