Jay-Z’s legal team is under fire following allegations of bribery in the ongoing Jane Doe case against Sean “Diddy” Combs.

Attorney Tony Buzbee, representing several alleged victims in sexual abuse cases against Combs, claims that Jay-Z’s investigators offered $1,000 to Buzbee’s clients to sue his law firm.

“These guys are on tape offering to pay clients to sue our law firm. That’s a crime,” Buzbee stated, sharing portions of the alleged transcript on social media. He called the conduct “reprehensible and illegal,” promising consequences for Jay-Z’s team, led by high-profile attorney Alex Spiro.

This dispute comes as Jay-Z’s team filed to dismiss a December 8 lawsuit refiled by Buzbee, naming Jay-Z (real name Shawn Carter) as “Celebrity A” in a 2000 alleged rape incident involving Combs and an unnamed female “Celebrity B.” Spiro has also called for the identity of Jane Doe to be revealed.

Buzbee refuted claims that his firm pressured a potential client into filing false allegations against Combs, stating, “We don’t pressure people nor do we need to. We pursue cases we believe have merit.”

The allegations add another layer of complexity to Combs’ legal woes. Currently incarcerated at Brooklyn’s Metropolitan Detention Centre, Combs faces charges including racketeering and sex trafficking. His trial is set for May 2025, with potential life imprisonment if convicted.

Jay-Z has denied the accusations, calling them baseless and insisting the claims against him are without merit. As the case unfolds, the feud between Buzbee and Spiro continues to intensify, casting a spotlight on the high-stakes legal battle.
