PTI talks to Fazl for joint anti-govt movement
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader and former Speaker of the National Assembly Asad Qaiser stated that he is in contact with Maulana Fazlur Rehman, as PTI aims to launch a joint movement against the current government.
He described the government as fascist and emphasised the need for all political parties to unite against it. Meanwhile, MNA Sher Ali Arbab expressed concern over Mohsin Naqvi's actions, stating that politicians might regret them later.
Speaking to the media after appearing in the Peshawar High Court, Asad Qaiser said that the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) was equally responsible for the events of November 24. He noted that the government had not reached out to PTI so far, but added that his party would respond based on the government's stance on their demands.
He criticised the government for focusing on targeting PTI instead of addressing the worsening law and order situation in Balochistan and Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa.
Asad Qaiser reiterated that PTI is committed to its constitutional and legal struggle and condemned the government's labeling of political workers as terrorists. He highlighted the deteriorating security situation in the country and accused the government of neglecting its responsibilities. He also announced that the ceremony to honor martyrs, initially scheduled for December 13, would now be held on December 15 at Bagh Naran.
He condemned the use of force on peaceful citizens, the alleged theft of PTI's mandate, and the illegal passage of the 26th Amendment. He demanded the release of political prisoners and called the government undemocratic.
He also criticised the mistreatment of Pashtuns in Punjab and Islamabad, calling it a conspiracy against the country. He urged action against those involved in injustices against Pashtuns and criticised the closure of trade with Afghanistan as unjust.
Asad Qaiser reiterated his discussions with Maulana Fazlur Rehman, emphasising the need to strengthen a joint opposition movement against the government.
PTI leader Sher Ali Arbab accused Mohsin Naqvi of actions that would lead to regret among politicians in the future. He revealed that over 200 PTI workers are missing and stressed that the mistreatment of Pashtuns would not be tolerated. He demanded answers about who fired shots during protests and challenged the government to show evidence of any vandalism by PTI workers.
Against governor's rule
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf has remained steadfast in its opposition to Governor's rule in Khyber-Pakhtunlhwa.
Speaking at a party meeting held in the city on Tuesday, PTI leader and former MPA Shaukat Yousafzai Yousafzai criticised, what he called, incompetent federal ministers for threatening to impose Governor's rule in the province under such circumstances.
He expressed disappointment over the non-serious attitude of government ministers, stating that labeling a political party and its workers as terrorists undermines democracy. He further highlighted that, under the leadership of K-P Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur, the party has been fighting terrorism alongside the Pakistan Army and police, while also working through tribal grand jirgas to establish lasting peace in Kurram.
Meanwhile, the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has also devised a strategy for upcoming protests and negotiations. Protests will continue until fruitful negotiations are achieved, the party resolved.
A five-member PTI negotiation committee, led by Omar Ayub, is set to announce its plan of action.
In the meeting, it was clarified that while protests will continue, the doors for dialogue will remain open, and talks will be held with all stakeholders.
