PML-N seeks time to address PPP grievances

PML-N and PPP leaders meet to address Punjab-related grievances, but talks end inconclusively; more to come

ISLAMABAD:

Efforts to appease the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), a major coalition partner, fell short as the first meeting of the liaison committees ended inconclusively on Monday.

A high-level meeting between the PML-N and PPP leaders took place at Punjab House, Islamabad.

The PPP committee presented its concerns to the government representatives and expressed concerns over the delay in resolving issues related to Punjab despite repeated assurances.

However, the government assured the PPP of addressing its grievances and sought more time.

The meeting centred around discussions during which the PPP delegation expressed grievances about unmet promises and delays in resolving Punjab-related matters.

The PML-N leadership assured the PPP of addressing the concerns at a high level while requesting some more time to resolve the issues. Both sides agreed to hold another meeting to iron out differences.
