Afzal Marwat wins interim bail

An anti-terrorism court (ATC) on Monday granted interim bail to PTI leader Sher Afzal Marwat in three cases related to the November 26 D-Chowk protest, barring the police from arresting him.

Meanwhile, an additional district and sessions judge also approved interim bail for Marwat in two other cases.

ATC Judge Tahir Abbas Sipra presided over the hearing on Marwat's bail applications.

During the proceedings, Marwat said that Judge Abual Hasnat Mohammad Zulqarnain had recused himself from hearing his case due to remarks he made in the National Assembly. The court granted interim bail to Marwat against surety bonds worth Rs5,000.
