Ronnie 2K rumored to be fired amid growing fan criticism of NBA 2K25

Ronnie 2K, the digital marketing director at 2K Sports, has recently been the subject of rumors suggesting that he was fired. 

These rumors gained traction after a viral TikTok video sparked widespread discussion, leading to mixed reactions from the gaming community. While some fans voiced relief at the idea of his departure, others quickly dismissed the claims, citing the lack of official confirmation.

Many fans have long criticized Ronnie 2K for what they perceive as a decline in the NBA 2K franchise, especially under his leadership. The release of NBA 2K25 on September 6, 2024, only fueled this criticism. 

Rather than excitement, the launch was met with disappointment from a significant portion of the fanbase, who expressed frustration with the game’s features. Some even called for Ronnie 2K’s removal, blaming him for the perceived drop in quality.

Despite these frequent calls for his firing, no official statement from 2K Sports has confirmed the rumors, leaving much of the speculation unresolved.

In April 2020, a tweet claiming he had been fired made the rounds on social media, only to be revealed as an April Fools' joke.
