Song Joong Ki returns to variety show after nine years on ‘Please Take Care of My Refrigerator’

South Korean actor Song Joong Ki is set to make his long-awaited return to variety shows as a guest on 'Please Take Care Of My Refrigerator' season 2.

Filming for the episode took place on December 9, and it is scheduled to air on December 29. Song will appear alongside actor Lee Hee Joon, and the two will discuss their upcoming movie, 'Bogota: City of the Lost', which is set to release on December 31.

This appearance marks Song Joong Ki's first variety show guest spot in nearly nine years. His last formal appearance was in January 2016 on the 'Running Man' Shanghai special. Since then, he has made a few special appearances, such as VCR interviews, but this return to a talk show is his first in almost a decade. 

Fans are especially excited by the prospect of hearing more about his life, particularly as a father of two. Song, who married former British actress Katy Louise Saunders last year, recently shared the joyful news of the birth of their second child, a daughter.

'Please Take Care Of My Refrigerator' is a unique cooking variety show where celebrities’ refrigerator ingredients are transformed into dishes within just 15 minutes. The second season features a talented chef lineup, including Lee Yeon Bok, Choi Hyun Seok, and Kim Poong, among others.

In addition to his variety show appearance, Song Joong Ki is preparing for the release of 'Bogota: City of the Lost', a crime thriller set in Bogotá, Colombia. Directed by Kim Sung Je, the film follows a man seeking to rebuild his life after losing everything during the IMF crisis. As he settles in Bogotá, he becomes involved with complex characters and faces significant challenges in his new environment.
