Young artists shine at peace poster exhibit
The Punjab Arts Council, in collaboration with the National Counter Terrorism Authority (NACTA), hosted a two-day peace poster exhibition in its Art Gallery. The event showcased creative works by young artists, drawing praise from attendees from various walks of life.
The displayed posters were submissions to NACTA's 5th Poster Competition 2024, with participants competing in three age categories.
NACTA Director General Communications and Outreach, Saleha Zakir Shah inaugurated the show. Other dignitaries present included Director Punjab Arts Council Sajjad Hussain, Senior Analyst Adnan Khaliq Bhatti, Deputy Director Anum Ayaz, Analyst Haider Abbas, Junior Analyst Mohammed Idrees Khan, and Assistant Director Suleman.
Judges evaluated the entries and selected finalists across three age categories.
In the 10 to 15 years category, Zahra Kashif secured the first position, Momin Haroon came second, and Anaya Tariq took third place. In the 16 to 20 years category, Safa Javaid earned first place, followed by Aleena Qayum in second and Maria Affaq in third. In the 21 to 30 years category, Sana Batool claimed the top spot, while Humna Haider and Anum were awarded second and third positions, respectively.
Winners in each category will receive cash prizes of Rs50,000, Rs30,000, and Rs20,000 for first, second, and third places, respectively.
Shah commended the winners for their innovative artwork and their contributions toward promoting peace in Pakistan. Director Sajjad Hussain lauded NACTA's efforts in fostering harmony and providing a platform for youth to express their creativity. "This exhibition not only highlights the artistic talents of young individuals but also underscores their role in advocating for a peaceful and prosperous Pakistan," he remarked.
