Pakistan to deploy troops along Afghan border
The troops will be deployed to stop cross-border attacks by afghan-based militants.

The Pakistan Army has decided to deploy regular troops at the border with Afghanistan to stop cross-border attacks by afghan-based militants, Express 24/7 reported on Tuesday.
The troops will be deployed along the border with Dir and Chitral. The decision was confirmed by DG ISPR Major General Athar Abbas.
So far the number of troops to be deployed and the duration of deployment is not known.
The border where troops had been deployed has seen attacks from militants based in Afghanistan’s Kunar province.
The border posts are currently manned by paramilitary troops.
As reported earlier, in late August, hundreds of Pakistani Taliban fighters mounted pre-dawn raids on paramilitary posts in Chitral district of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa after crossing over from their sanctuary in northeastern Afghanistan, officials said.
At least 28 security personnel were killed in the attack, according to District Coordination Officer (DCO) Rehmatullah Wazir.
Also, Taliban militants in Afghanistan have kidnapped more than 30 Pakistani boys who inadvertently strayed across the border. The group of boys, aged between 12 and 18, left the Gharkhi area of Bajaur tribal region during Eid holidays.
“The boys inadvertently crossed into Afghanistan on the second day of Eid and were kidnapped by militants,” senior local administration official Syed Nasim told AFP.
The boys are still in captivity of the militants.
