TIMERGARA:

More than 120 employees of the Tehsil Municipal Administration (TMA) in the Dir Lower district of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) have not been paid for the last four months.

The employees have termed the non-payment of their salaries by the provincial government 'discriminatory' and 'unfair', saying that the government had released funds for some TMAs but that Dir had been deprived of it.

Local government employees claimed that, due to political reasons, the Dir TMA had not been issued funds because the tehsil chairman, Rafiullah Khan, belonged to the Jamaat-e-Islami.

"The government has not released funds to the tehsils where rival political parties had won due to which 120 employees are suffering.

These are not 120 individuals but 120 families," said an employee while talking to The Express Tribune.
