Health minister cracks whip on doctors for 'unethical behaviour'
Sindh Health Minister Dr Azra Fazal Pechuho has taken serious notice of allegations against two doctors at Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre and has sought an explanation from them.
Associate Professors of Neurosurgery and Gastroenterology, Dr Iram Bokhari and Nazish Butt respectively have been accused of unprofessional behaviour towards colleagues and the administration. The allegations include harassing newly appointed associate professors from the ward. They tried preventing a newly appointed professor from joining the departments of Neurosurgery and Gastroenterology with the help of security guards and in clear violation of administrative orders.
The letters stated that the behaviour of the two negatively affected the work environment and severely impacted patient care and service delivery. Health Minister has directed the two accused doctors to submit an explanation within three days, otherwise, departmental action will be taken against them under the Sindh Civil Servants Rules 1973.
